Lucia Garcia-Lorenzo

          Associate Professor in Organizational and Social Psychology at the London School of Economics
 
Dr Lucia Garcia is Associate Professor in Organisational and Social Psychology and CoDirector of the MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science (PBS). 
She holds a BA, MSC (UPV, Spain); PhD (LSE); PgCert in Group Analysis (IGA), PgCert Business Coaching (HBS); Cpsych; AFBPsS; FRSĂ. Dr. Garcia trained as an Organisational Psychologist at the Basque Country University, in northern Spain before coming to London to conduct research towards a PhD on Cultural Change in Organisations. After a few years in the corporate world as a co-developer and manager of a publishing start up; she returned to academia through a number of research and consultancy projects focused on change and transitions in organisations in different contexts: From the changes in health promotion and innovation structures in a network of European cities; to the new ways of organising and knowledge strategies emerging after restructuring processes within multinational corporations, NGOs and Small and Medium Size enterprises.  Currently she is looking at the particularly difficult transitions between work, un(der)employment and entrepreneurship that have emerged since the start of the global financial crisis. At PBS, Dr Garcia co-directs the MSc in Organisational and Social Psychology; convenes the specialist graduate option, Knowledge processes in organisations (PS428) and is the coordinator of the Organisational Research Group (ORG). Dr. Garcia also supervises graduate (MSc and PhD) students working in a diversity of areas related to organisations and organisational life. She is a Chartered Psychologist (Cpsych), an Associated Fellow of the British Psychological Society (AFBPsS) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).
